Brillant sauna accessories, TylöHelo, 2020
Sometimes, sauna related products do not fit well with the modern home sauna or luxurious spa. In response, Garatto created elegant sauna accessories that suit well with a wide variety of sauna interiors. The concept reflects TylöHelo’s company principles, combined with modern Nordic aesthetic features.
The beautiful diagonal shape is inspired by the water waves. It includes a bucket, ladle, thermometer, hygrometer, and hourglass and is offered in Matt Black or Silver Grey.
It features aluminum which is anodized and sand-blasted for a real quality finish and longevity. The handle on the bucket is Light Birch, reinforced with Aspen for strength.
The materials are chosen to combine practicality with a pleasant appearance – a great complement to the environment and enhancement to the sauna experience.
In addition to the stylish design, the bucket has a clever functional spout
to enable more accurate pouring of water – ideal for filling the water tank on Tylö Combi heaters.
Branding project, MyClothable, 2020
MyClothable was born out of the founders' shared passion for supporting a system change in the fashion industry and providing consumers with new ways of enjoying fashion more sustainably. As outsiders to the fashion industry, but with a wealth of collective experience from transforming other businesses, they set out to develop practical and easily implementable solutions that would significantly impact the environmental footprint but at a low cost and limited disruption to existing operations and businesses.
This project's role was to create an appealing branding that didn't overcome the selected brands and support while reinforcing their targeted customers' values and vision.
The detailed and straightforward graphics combined with neutral, refined tones and elegant visuals follow an international taste concept with a nordic twist. An essential part of the project was to create a detailed guideline about styling and product photography to ensure the creation of consistent, clean, and appealing images for their fashion e-commerce.
Christmas Balls, Iittala, 2017
Iittala's classic red glass balls are delicate ornaments, that can be hung on the Christmas tree or given as a gift over the holiday season.
Their soft shine soothes the mood and creates holiday harmony.
During my collaboration on Iittala’s product offering for Christmas, I developed, the set of color tones that are an extension of the iconic Iittala's red.
Kasvisto shoe collection, Lumi Accessories, 2016
The collection finds its roots in nordic nature. In fact, the pattern designed by Jenni Ritamäki reproduces indigenous flowers and herbs mixed up with the color tones that were trending by the time. The collection reminds of a “Kasvisto” (herbarium in Finnish), a personal catalog of grasses hand-picked, and dry-kept into a book.
All Lumi products are created with vegetable-tanned leathers. This “chromium-free” method, unlike the traditional system, does not include harmful chemicals in the dying process.
I worked at Lumi Accessories as the main Design partner of the Brand Directors for three years. In this position, every Lumi product came across my desk at each step of their development.
